The question of whether the world that we observe around us is real, has been asked for a long time. It has been asked before Descartes, and after him; and it has been asked by all of us at some point in time.

Descartes hit upon the question, in a profound way. How can we make certain that the world surrounding us, exists the way we imagine it to exist? It takes more than measurement--using the scientific method--to give us an indisputable answer. It takes our sense of "presence" in the context of our environment to fully believe that our world exists--in not only a scientific way--but in an authentic way (immersed in everyday existence). Even our connection to the presence of everything outside of us and the ideas within our minds is based on faith that we do perceive ourselves and everything around us in an accurate way. It is a "vivid belief" that we are connected to a world, and universe, that we can understand.

When we consider every day living, sometimes we get caught up in the mundane. However, when a we consider the fact that we can choose to do anything we want each and every day, if he comes a life with infinite possibilities. Once the day has passed, there is no replacing it. We must always move forward towards our goals of success and happiness, and believe we deserve that.

I spent a perfect late morning and early afternoon visiting my mother's grave with my twin sister today. We brought her flowers that she would appreciate having in her yard when she was alive. My sister said a beautiful prayer for her and in my soul I echoed the same prayer. 
Afterward, I walked the grounds and saw that some people were picnicking at their mother's graves--which I found very interesting. 
I hope that everyone who has a mother, in their lives or in their hearts finds that to be a blessing. And to all of the mother's out there, I wish you a happy mother's day. You each are a blessing to the world.
